Forced to Participate in the Transgender Issue
How appearances affect each of us can be a difficult concept to master, as how we view ourselves is rarely how we are perceived by others - especially by those that do not know us personally. This is particularly true when applied to the transgender issues currently in the news. The majority of the mainstream population has never known a transgendered individual, so to assess the position and place of such a person in society is problematic in reaching an opinion that may impact a greater understanding.
From a purely personal perspective a transgender individual should and must receive every civil right and privilege afforded any other citizen, and the full weight of the law should be applied when violations occur. What should not be offered in these instances is any type of special consideration, preferential treatment or action by government that imposes upon the remaining population's ability to go about their lives in a peaceful and lawful manner.
The main topic of discussion in all of this seems for some odd reason to be the choice of restroom facilities available to the transgendered. Not employment, housing, education or medical care. Restrooms......
Under former President Obama a mandate was presented through the Department of Education to assure school students freedom in selecting the restroom facilities of their choice - The State of Texas challenged it in court and won. Since his election President Trump has rescinded the order entirely. Most recently, Texas has pursued a "Bathroom Law" that is well on it's way to becoming law, one which insists students must use the restroom in accordance with the sex stated on their birth certificate.
Money talks, and even business entities such as professional sports leagues and performing artists that utilize large venues are on the side of accommodating trangendered bathroom issues. The NFL has threatened to pull The Super Bowl from locales not on board with transgender bathroom rights, and a number of big name performing acts have boycotted entire states over the matter.
What seems to get lost in the media clamor are the rights of the common person - the 99 percent of the population that is not transgendered. Namely, the parents of small children who do not want the minds of their impressionable offspring exposed to such a lifestyle for whatever reason - albeit on grounds of religion, personal opinion or any other. No parent should ever be forced to have discussions with young children on any manner of sexual topic, and the entire transgender bathroom issue demands a parental response be forthright.
The time, energy and financial resources of government on all levels in response to this matter has been costly to say the least....over bathrooms? Evidently all of our nation's pressing foreign and domestic issues have been resolved so very successfully that our attention can now be squarely focused on appeasing the concerns of a minuscule demographic in validating their self perceptions. It is mind-boggling that an issue so inane can garner so much debate and stir such controversy. And yes, it is recognized that it is not trivial to a transgendered person - nor is it trivial to a parent that has to explain why a man in a floral dress wearing pearls and stiletto heels is in the ladies room.
The bottom line is that any person can identify with whatever they perceive themselves to be, but not at the cost of disturbing the peaceful enjoyment of others to go about their lives without being forced to play along in addressing a social issue....like bathrooms.

Political Correctness is Misguided in Thought
Way back in prehistoric days - let's say 35 years ago, it was a positive personal trait to be honest with everyone you came across. Whether someone agreed with what you said or not, most of the times it was generally appreciated as one of the qualities of what was known as "A Stand Up Guy". A person willing to face the slings and arrows of the opposition and keep moving forward based on the belief of morality and integrity, in essence, to "do the right thing".
That concept is generally considered in today's culture as archaic, ignorant, abusive, intrusive and outdated beyond belief. It has been replaced by the talking heads that don't mean a single word they say, offer no firm position on anything of substance and waver in accordance with each changing wind of public opinion. Double-talk has become a language in and of itself and nearly every public figure on the planet regardless of their profession has embraced it, mastered it and prospered handsomely as a result.
In the new religion of Political Correctness every practitioner gets a warm hug of love and acceptance from the masses, which should not be confused with the majority. In the present culture the term "Political Correctness" is directed at appeasing the minority elements of society, so as to avoid disagreement and the ensuing verbal parlay that will surely follow. In short, to disagree is to be disagreeable, and the posture is almost certain to be associated with racism, sexism, gender bias or one of a hundred other labels that are falsely assumed as factual.
The symptoms of Political Correctness Disease are simple to spot and the individuals that support and promote it are even easier. They are the perpetual victims that are constantly being picked on, bullied, discriminated against, abused, neglected, and relegated to the lower rungs of the social classes despite having every opportunity to prosper. What is missing in their world is not greater acceptance and equal consideration by the majority, but the tools by which all people succeed - a work ethic, motivation to self-educate and a moral compass permanently set to live the right way and bask in the rewards of achievement and self fulfillment.
Within the pretense of Political Correctness an exaggerated sense of entitlement rules the day. As a victim everyone should compensated in some form, preferential treatment should flow from every corner of government and laws don't apply to the downtrodden. Police are viewed not as first responders putting their lives on the line daily in the public interest, but rather as racist thugs with itchy trigger fingers and an agenda to harass and abuse anyone of an ethnic background that isn't of the majority.
Even worse is that an astonishing number of these "entitlement sponges" are egged on by politicians eager to curry favor in minority legislative districts, race baiting national religious figures and even wealthy foreign nationals bent on anarchy.
Sadly, the real truth of Political Correctness is that the concept is crafted solely to prevent the majority from expressing themselves openly, so as to limit the acceptance of the notion that things are as they are for a number of specific reasons - and none of them has a thing to do with images of victims and victimization.

Welcome to Misguided in Thought - a blog dedicated to those that are so far off the mark in rational thought processes that the rest of us are left to scratch our heads in disbelief. All of our posts found here are based solely on the opinion of our creator, someone who is old enough to remember "the good old days" and young enough to still control body functions (well, most of them anyway).
Take the time to look around the blog and you'll soon discover what a mess this country (The United States) and this world really are, from the enemies we make and fight to the allies we support to our own policies that negatively impact millions of people on a daily basis, we collectively are misguided in thought - or at the very least the people we elect are.
Every aspect of culture, humanity, politics, religion and race will be considered here with no exceptions. This endeavor is all about honest perceptions and commentary based on the events of the day - not the garbage that gets crammed down our throats on a nightly basis by those promoting an agenda of self interest, public image and greed on the television or radio. None of the content contained here is designed to be news, but rather an objective commentary of why individuals in the public eye behave the way they do, and why so many common people are so eager to believe everything they read or hear with little consideration to the scope and impact of words and actions.
Out views presented here are not liberal or conservative, Democrat or Republican, black or white, gay or straight, male or female or on any other belief based posture - in short we call them like we see them. At the least readers may gain new insights, perhaps ammunition for continued personal conversations and possibly a new opinion of how misguided in thought some public figures really are when placed under the microscope.
